About Me

Hello! My name is Samuel, and when I was a kid I lived in the mountains of northern Idaho where I hiked, swam, skied, biked, and stressed out about what I was going to be when I grew up. In high school I was placed in a drama class against my will, but I was surprised to discover a deep love of the performing arts and acted in every subsequent school show.
After graduation, my family moved to Texas and I happened to land a job as a stagehand at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences. They introduced me to live sound technology and taught me the basics of how to set up microphones and run a sound board. That experience changed my life; I quickly developed a strong passion for live sound and I decided that I wanted make it my life.
With that goal set, I then enrolled in and graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Design, Technology, and Management with a concentration in sound design. As of now I have served as the live mixer on several productions including Xanadu and Bright Star, and served as the sound designer for several productions including Hamlet and Sweeney Todd. Last summer I interned with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas where I received valuable training and made many wonderful connections. I am currently looking for the next step of my career and can't wait to see where this path takes me next!
